Press Release Summary: The Delphi Academy of San Francisco collected more than 1442
items that weighed 1096 pounds in canned and boxed foods to donate to needy families
during the holiday season.

Press Release Body: Each year, students from Delphi Academy of San Francisco Bay (A
private K-8th grade school in Santa Clara) collect canned and boxed foods to donate
to needy families during the holiday season. This is done as part of Delphi
Academy\'s program, wherein students learn about community service activities and the
different ways they can help the community.

The class in charge this year was Mrs. Victoria Raiburn\'s 3rd grade class. After
rallying students to donate more than 1000 pounds of food items, they took the
donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose on Nov 16. The children were
thrilled to bring the food to the Community Service Center and spent over an hour
touring the facilities and learning about the organization of the food bank. After
learning how much the community needs their help they were even prouder of their
efforts. Representatives of the Second Harvest Food Bank thanked them for bringing
joy and food to the needy.

Delphi Academy of San Francisco Bay is an independent, coeducational and
non-sectarian day school offering regular school year and summer programs for
